Ringside World

Hey guys! Thanks so much for sharing your time with us and answering our questions. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

We list events and sell tickets for British wrestling shows up and down the country, whilst enabling local training schools to showcase their work to a wider audience.

We show no bias or negativity to any promotions and simply give promoters the chance to put their product in the spotlight and showcase it to the people that matter, the fans!

What services do you guys provide?

Our services also allow promoters to have online management of their shows and a statistical breakdown, of how their event is progressing.

We provide them with the tools to promote their product to the right people, by offering a range of different marketing and advertising options, via the website, social media and by e-mail campaigns.

It is not only promoters that we are trying to help though, we also want to get some of the many talented training schools situated across the country, further exposure and allow new people to discover the wonderful world of wrestling.

Our interactive events map allows you to search what is happening in your area and plan what shows you want to attend!

What got you interested in the world of wrestling?

Growing up I always had an interest in wrestling, along with my friends. It wasn’t until Wrestlemania 17 though and the match between The Rock and Stone Cold, that something clicked and made me want to watch it every week! After that event, my mates and I would get together every Friday night, to watch Raw and that soon turned into watching the PPV’s and Smackdown.

How important is social media for building your brand?

Very important! It is the main tool that we use to help companies promote their events and get more eyes on their product. We have worked hard to build a social media following of 20K, across Facebook and Twitter, but it has been worth it, as it’s clearly had a positive effect on ticket sales and exposure for companies.

How long have you been in business?

We will have been trading for seven years, this coming May!

What payment methods are available to your customers?

We offer Stripe and Paypal as methods for customers to purchase tickets.

What events can our readers expect to find on your site?

We sell tickets for events all over the UK.  Companies include Pro Wrestling ChaosKamikaze Pro, PBW, FutureshockFight Nation and Hooked On Events.

What is your long-term goal for the industry?

If you had asked me that question a few weeks ago, I think my answer would have been very different! British wrestling will sadly take a hit from the COVID-19 pandemic, along with many other industries. My hope is that it can make a full recovery over the next couple of years and then surpass where it is now. It’s great to see so many fans rallying around companies and wrestlers and helping to support them, during this worrying time.

Hopefully when this is all over and events can start up again, then the industry hits the ground running and bounces back quickly!

What changes have you seen in the industry since you started?

The industry has boomed since we started. When the idea of Ringside World was dreamed up, I knew there was a gap in the market and if the demand continued to grow, then we would be in a good position to help play a part in that.

The level of professionalism has skyrocketed and companies and wrestlers are now treating the industry like a business and the benefits are there for all to see!

Have you faced any challenges since starting?

Yeah, it’s always challenging running a business. When we launched, we were like no other product on the market. British wrestling was really starting to grow, but there wasn’t anywhere that gave fans and companies a place to find each other. It took time for us to find our feet and our place on the British scene and thankfully companies like Pro Wrestling Chaos, Elite British WrestlingPremier British Wrestling and Kamikaze Pro really championed us and could see what we were trying to achieve and we’ll forever be grateful to them for showing faith in us.

We face daily challenges as well, we are constantly trying to grow the company and work with new promotions, along with dealing with customer queries and supporting the promoters who are already using the website.

What wrestler would you recommend we check out in the UK scene?

I’ve never watched a Robbie X match that I haven’t really enjoyed!

Up and coming wrestlers, I’d say Ivy, who has worked for EBW, Fierce Females and Tidal recently. She’s nailed the heel gimmick and is starting to get the recognition she deserves.

From the men’s side, I’d say Krieger. He’s one half of the ICW Tag Team Champions with Lou King Sharp and has really impressed in recent months. He’s not been south of Scotland that much and if/when he does start to, then I can see him really impressing more fans.

What federation would you recommend our readers check out for the best matches?

TV-wise, we are really being spoilt as wrestling fans currently. There are so many great companies now! Matt and I have always been big TNA/IMPACT fans, so if I had to pick I’d say give IMPACT another go, if you walked away during their troubled times. The product is really enjoyable to watch again.

On the British scene, I think it is well worth checking out Pro Wrestling Chaos. Their back catalogue of events is fantastic and with Flash Morgan Webster and Wild Boar just taking over the reins, it’s going to be exciting to see what they do with the company.

If you want an up and coming company, then definitely go and check out Reach Wrestling! They are doing things the right way and are only going to get bigger and better.
